Lenovo IdeaPad U450p Notebook On The Way

Computer manufacturer Lenovo has a teaser page for a forthcoming IdeaPad Notebook U450p, shows almost no information at all as a full-blown product page is not yet. Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 unboxed

Netbook Lenovo was shipping the second generation for a few weeks, but ran in the Philippines Netbook forum has some of the first unboxing photos I have ever seen. The Netbook is equipped with a slip for decent looking and all the usual accessories such as a user manual, warranty card and power cord. I must say that I’m not a big fan of the way the extended battery sticks from the rear of the Netbook as a tumor. But it is probably a small price for the doubling of your laptop batteries.

As expected, the S10-2 seems to be a brilliant display, looks a bit like a mirror when the backlight is turned off. The lid is not glossy, but the keyboard and palm rest are fortunately less shiny and less prone to the collection of fingerprints.

Here you will find more photos, including a photo of the IdeaPad S10-2 are linked to an HP Mini 1000 above that the Philippines Netbook Forums.

Lenovo introduces first Ion based netbook

We already saw Asus’s Italy-only ATI GPU-equipped netbook. It looked to be promising, allowing to do more graphically intensive tasks as a standard Netbook. Now it might seem a little outdated, since Lenovo is finally bringing a new chip based on Netbook.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S12 is just barely a Netbook with a large 12-inch screen and full-size keyboard. What makes this so exciting is the S12 will be the first Netbook to use NVIDIA’s new platform for ion Netbook. As an Nvidia platform, Ion is better suited for more graphically intensive tasks like HD video and games. It is even able to play spore mines which may be played on Intel integrated graphics, but still a little impressive. Maybe it will not choke on high quality Hulu streams such as the Intel Atom may times.

Ion Nvidia’s platform for the IdeaPad a tempting buy. It Netbook is finally exciting again. Maybe it will push Intel, the Atom platform better suited graphically intensive situations. The idea actually the possibility of games on a Netbook next PopCap Casual Games sounds wonderful. I have no reason to doubt it would probably play for Team Fortress 2 or World of Warcraft also appropriate, if he can play spore mines. It would also be nice to be able to high-definition video, or at least better quality than what the atom is in the position. It is true that we do not really have a chance to play with the ion-platform, but from the looks, it could in fact make Netbook finally, if for some people.
