WD intros first 750GB, 1TB notebook drives

Western Digital today at a symbolic milestone in the notebook memory today with the introduction of two new Scorpio Blue notebook hard drives on the 500 GB mark.

The new versions reach 750 GB and 1 TB each by installing something more than 333GB per Platter. While the drives are 12.5mm high and therefore unlikely that they are for most notebook computers outside of desktop-replacement models, the design also on the future and is considered particularly useful for external drives, where the extra space is worth more.

Both possibilities have anti-shock protection, and peaceful mechanisms. They connect to SATA and SATA II interfaces, and should be available today. Not a word was 9.5 mm drives for notebooks thinner.

This is an extension of the “Free Agent Go” series from Seagate. Prior to this version, the available capacity was 500GB max.

The drive has preloaded “Seagate Manager software, which automatically backups of important files. You can create your files from PC notebook and can be a day week month backup. The previous 500 GB has been sold to almost $ 120th We can expect a price of $ 150 – $ 200 for the new release is still unofficial.

OCZ Announces Summit SSD Available

OCZ has a new addition to its SSD lineup with the Summit Series. These drives are available in 60 GB, 120 GB and 250 GB capacity.

The summit offers an impressive line read and write times of 220MB s and 200 Mb s or for the two hard drives with greater capacity and 220MB s read and 125 MB s write, for the 60 GB.

Availability is limited. Not bad, how much power you can from these SSDs in those days. For the people aware that the summit with a mere 2W at full power and 0.5 W at idle, the loans to increased battery life compared to conventional plates spinning.

Toshiba Notebook with 512GB SSD

Toshiba 12.1-inch Dynabook SS RX2 WAJ is the first notebook in the world, has a 512GB SSD.

Measuring just 19.5 – 25.5mm thick and weighs 1.1 kilograms (less than 2.5-pounds), the laptop is equipped with a Core 2 Duo SU9400 CPU, and a battery of up to 12 hours operating time.

The Toshiba Dynabook SS RX2 is on 14 May 2009 in Japan.

OCZ Introduces Mini PCI-E SSDs for Netbooks

OCZ has its first mini-PCI-e Solid State Drives for Netbook. These SSDs are at an affordable flash memory option for low-cost ultra-portable systems.

OCZ offers Mini PCI-E SSDs in both PATA and SATA interfaces. Notebook upgrades can choose either the SATA version, a fast 110 MB s read and 51 MB s write speed, or upgrade the PATA, which is a maximum of 45MB sec read and 35MB sec write speeds. Compaitble with PC & Mac, OCZ Mini-PCI-E SSDs in capacities of 16 GB and 32 GB.

Ennova USB Drive Comes Complete With OLED Screen/Fingerprint Scanner

It’s still a little, like from a current release, but it looks like the people on Direct Ennova simply not help themselves from the announcement that they’ve received a patent for a newfangled biometric USB flash drive packs in an integrated OLED screen.

Even better that OLED screen seems really doubled, as the fingerprint scanner that does not add much extra in terms of security, but should be good for at least a few moments Gee whiz. The actual patent, but not for something that the convergence, but also for the sliding mechanism of the screen when closed and opens up the USB connector when it is open.

No word on pricing or capacity only, but it looks like the first drive should be under the brand ION Technologies sometime in the first quarter 2010.
