Kohjinsha Dual Screen DZ Series no longer just a concept

The Kohjinsha Dual Screen DZ-series was at one point, a concept, but it is now somehow managed to get up to on the shelves of stores.

The dual-screen dual-DZ series laptop packs 10.1-inch screens with LED backlighting, Neo MV-40 Athlon 1.6 GHz CPU, 1 GB of RAM (expandable to 4GB), ATI Radeon HD 3200, 160 GB memory, Wi-Fi and a 1.3-megapixel web camera.

The dual screens will cost, so be prepared to fork some dough. How much? It costs about 95,800 yen ($ 1,107) and is available in Japan.

Not sure whether it elsewhere on the head yet or not.

Kohjinsha demos dual screen netbook prototype

You see, the word I’musing Netbook loosely here because I shocked when Kohjinsha new laptop will cost less than $ 800, if and when they came on the market. But the company is showing a little awesome concept device at CEATEC with two 10.1-inch LCDs, which can sit side by side. If you only need a single screen, a folded behind the other and the device is about as large as a 10.1-inch netbook.

Each screen can be either 1024 x 600 or 1366 x 768 resolution processing. And the computer is a AMD Athlon MV-40 Neo-chipset and DirectX 10-compatible ATI powered graphics card. It supports up to 4 GB of RAM, running Windows 7, and weighs less than 4 pounds.

Engadget reports that the laptop is a little thicker than most netbooks, the additional display. It measures 1.7 inches at the thickest point, although it slims up to 0.75 inches at its thinnest point.

I’m guessing this machine will get in about an hour run time from a standard battery. The AMD processor MV-40 is not exactly known for their energy efficiency, and the LCD is usually a by power-hungry components of a netbook. So probably not have to help two of them.
