The primary concern with a notebook of this class is its value, not its absolute power, or some amazing feature set.
You get a feel for how basic research, such as the utilitarian IdeaPad G530 is the moment you pick up. It is light and slim for its size on fancy extras. Fully in fundamental Lenovo matt black, decorated it is about as modest as a modern laptop gets. The standard keyboard is not difficult to type on and includes the arrow buttons in the “inverted T” arrangement and Page Up Page Down keys. Extra buttons above the keyboard are made of volume up, down, mute and set with a single programmable button that a program can be started, open, open a document or Web page – plus a physical key for Lenovo’s OneKey recovery feature .
The trackpad is smooth and accurate movement, but the pad has no special features. It is a standard two-button trackpad with scroll edge. Speaking of the screen we have seen better when it’s nice to get to 15 inches at all in a notebook that is cheap, and the resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels nice. The contrast ratio and horizontal viewing angle make the G530 a really bad choice for any type of work, where visual accuracy is required, and washes the screen or color shifts when you move your head too much.
The general experience with the IdeaPad G530 is a, well, cheap with a laptop. It does not seem to be any kind of permanence problem, but it no longer feels important to do so solid notebooks. The image quality suffers when you move your head. The integrated speakers are functional, but you do not want to listen to music with them. The system has a VGA output, but no digital video output at all. The Ethernet port is 10/100, not Gigabit. You are stuck with 32-bit Windows Home Basic.

It is too easy to focus on the negative, though. All too easily out of sight of the fact that a 15-inch, $ 499 laptop, it is to lose one of the rare breed. It is clearly designed and built for businesses that need a cheap laptop for traveling employees and will update the functional enough for them to check their e-mail, the table or pull up important files from a customer to send the DVD-ROM and them back in the home office.
