OpenOfficeMouse Is An 18 Button Freak

18 programmable keys. Eighteen! Forget the 512k flash memory, similar Xbox 360-style joystick, basic scroll wheel and whatever-else-is-in-da. 18 keys! Yes, I am a button lovers. Yes, I just had an orgasm. And yes, I want to waste $ 75 on this issue.

Certainly, it is not an attractive appearance and it is likely to be difficult, while the hell to use, but the prospect of programming of the buttons has me giddy. While the man who thinks the developing mouse, it would be for World of Warcraft or OpenOffice great tasks that I know I’m not sure even a single button for either of those things.

Moblin Linux 2.1 project release for netbooks now available

A new project release (read: pre-release beta) version of Moblin Linux is now also download and test for netbook users. Moblin 2.1 contains a number of improvements and new functionality. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Support for 3G data
  • Bluetooth device management
  • Updated browser plug-in support
  • Integrated Application Installer for Moblin Garage
  • Connection Manager now supports Ethernet, WiFi, WiMAX and 3G
  • Support for other resolutions (important for running Moblin on a nettop or all-in-one PC)

These features are still works in progress. For example, the only 3G modem that will support the Ericsson meat and bone meal, but support for other models are expected shortly.

The interesting part of Moblin is that it is not just a standalone operating system. The developers of the Linux Foundation, working on Moblin make the technology for other Linux developers, we’ve seen versions of Ubuntu, Linpus, and other Linux distributions, that the benefits of Moblin UI and other enhancements for the Intel Atom – powered Netbooks.
