How to enable DirectX 10 support on NVIDIA ION LE

To enable NVIDIA ION platform combines a low-power Intel Atom processor with powerful NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor to process low-power computers to HD video, some modern video games and other tasks that the benefits of the graphics processor can take. But there are two versions of the ION platform: ION and ION LE. The only real difference that I am aware of is that NVDIA ION DirectX 10, while ION LE not.

For the most part, have machines that are shipping with Windows XP with ION LE, which makes sense because Windows XP does not support DirectX 10 still to come. But if you upgrade to Windows Vista or 7, you should enable DirectX 10 … and it turns out, it is not so difficult you might think to do so.

MyHPMini forum member runawayprisoner glanced at the driver for NVIDIA ION LE and the HP Web site and noted that it has installed only if your system is the device ID 0876 that corresponds with ION to be. Machines with NVIDIA ION LE have a Device ID 087F. He 087F added to the INF and he was able to install the drivers for NVIDIA ION … was upgraded to be effective HP Mini 311, a machine with full ION NVIDIA graphics.

The end result? Its Windows Experience Index score for the game graphics jumped from 3.9 to 5.4. He also noticed a performance boost in games with DirectX 9 and though some manual DX9 instead of DX10 games say, because they were slower in DX10.

Oh, and if you do not want to fidget with the drivers themselves, runawayprisoner says he will fast for you to upload the driver to remain so, at the Forum thread to vote for more information.
