LG announces movie-friendly Widebook

LG has unveiled its latest home theater notebook range, which Widebook.

With widescreen movie playback, is designed to be tailored to the laptop for your home entertainment needs.

In essence, this means that the laptop has enough power to playback of HD content, including games.

In the heart of the laptop PC is an Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 2 GB or 4 GB of “Turbo Memory (RAM for you and me), and depending on which model is for you, the screen size 13.3-inch – (R380), 14-inch (R480 R460) and 15.6-inch (R580 R560).

Graphics-wise, packs the Widebook in an NVIDIA GeForce graphics chip with up to 1GB of DDR2 video memory, which LG claims is enough for 3D games, if you are so inclined.

Since the screens are LED-backlit display (that is, they are super bright), the laptops to save power and up to 15 to 20 percent less than regular notebooks.

Although the pricing to be confirmed, the Widebook a release date in late September and is in a range of colors, including “bright” white and “crystal” black.

Oh, and pink for the ladies. Because girls seem gadgets can not be bought, if they are pink.

Verizon Wireless to launch Gateway LT2106u Netbook

Verizon Wireless is expanding its wireless 3G network with the release of LT2106u Gateway netbook. The notebook will be activated to provide 3G broadband connection with basic functions at a reduced price.

The netbook is based on the Intel Atom N270 1.60 GHz processor with 1 GB of DDR2 RAM and a 160GB hard drive. It is a 10.1-inch display with LED-backlit 1024 x 600 screen resolution. Connection options including Wi-Fi and 3G data services. There are three USB ports, Ethernet and a 3-in-1 card reader on board. It comes with Windows XP operating system.

The batteries supplied to the production of up to 6 hours run time. The netbook will be available for retail in early October.
