Toshiba add WiMAX to Dynabook SS ultraportable & UX netbook

If our review of the Toshiba Port R600 this week trying to enter the ultra portable range, but you prefer an extra shot of WiMAX goodness, then you will want to head to Japan to undertakings for the latest wireless integrated model. The Japanese version of the R600, the Dynabook SS, its WiMAX RX2 T9JMAJ version (with a 128 GB SSD) launch today, 24 July; the first Toshiba notebook in June.

The Dynabook SS RX2 is shared with the US 27JBLMAJ, a WiMAX-enabled version of Toshiba’s 10.1-inch Netbook will start in mid-August. Both models use Intel’s WiMAX WiFi Link 5150-chipset, the two bundles WiFi a b g n and WiMAX connections on the same component. It is the first time, apparently, that the chipset was used on a Netbook.

Otherwise, the UX has the same Atom N280 processor 1.66GHz, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and 4 hours duration as the other versions. The SS RS2, meanwhile, gets the same SU9400 Core 2 Duo 1.4GHz CPU and 3GB of RAM as compared to R600, we previously in the week, albeit with a smaller 128GB SSD instead of the large 512GB SSD our review model had.

Hunt And Peck Keyboard

The input is a skill that is almost a prerequisite to the daily life in those days. But I am surprised at the number of people I know, the old “hunt and peck” method. They think that after working with a computer for so long, would finally give up and learn to do it properly. Now there is a keyboard, designed specifically for those stubborn people who aptly-named Hunt and Peck keyboard.

At first this keyboard seems like everyone else, until you realize that the keys are in alphabetical order. This is to make it easier for those who never learn the QWERTY layout. You can press a button and it switches to the standard layout, so that any normal person can actually have a kind of real speed. To add further insult, you can use the F-keys for quick abbreviations such as LOL, IMO and ASAP. If you are thinking of buying this for someone that the $ 30 and go find a copy of Mario Teaches Typing or so. It seemed to work wonders for me back in the 6th Class.
