Asus have provided details of its latest line of laptops in the U-series. The designs are similar to the MacBook Air and bigger and faster than the Eee PC 1008HA. 3 versions of the U-series launched with the first mention of the U20A with a 12-inch screen. The next is the UX30 with a 13.3 inch screen, and finally the UX50V, with a 15.6 inch screen.

Processors are available on each model with the initial comes with either a 1.2GHz Celeron M. The mid-range and higher models (UX30 and UX50V) have either a 1.3 GHz Pentium, 1.4GHz Core 2 Solo or a 1.6 GHz Core 2 Duo.

Each U-series laptop is no thicker then 1.2 cm at the thickest point with the UX30 is the thinnest total of only 0.9 inch at the most in its length. The model weighs just 3.5 points to the lack of a DVD burner, which in other models.

Wi-Fi can be found in each of the laptops and is compatible with 802.11n networks make it nice and fast on this side of things. Bluetooth is also included. Each of the screens with LED backlighting, and they all support hard drives up to 500 GB in size. 4GB of RAM can also be fully involved in them.

On the graphics side of things, the smaller models use Intel GMA 4500 graphics. The larger of the laptops surges up to 105 g of a GeForce card, 512 MB memory.

The U81A, U80V, U50G and U51Vg are thicker and heavier, but also LED backlight and full of notebook processors, the class from the 2 GHz Pentium Dual-Core and scale-up to a 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo. As the starter, the U81A has a 14-inch display, video GMA 4500 and the same memory and RAM functions as the larger ultra-portable. The U80V adds a 512MB Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphics chipset for much faster in the same 3D image. Finally, the very similar U50G and U51Vg even larger 15.6-inch panels g 105 and GeForce graphics.

The Asus U series look fantastic, I must say it is worth it and it must be borne in mind. No information on pricing and availability is not yet known, but they should not be too far away.
