Ruggedbook Releases Rugged SR820 Slate Tablet

RUGGEDBOOK, which around these parts for their hard slate tablets, has updated the SR series with the announcement of the SR820.

Oriented to the vertical market, with the SR820 comes with a variety of industry-centric options, such as a barcode reader, full specifications MIL-in WWAN, GPS, 2.0MP camera, during and curious with Netbook-esque specifications. The last time we reported on RUGGEDBOOK, give us the Lent SR668, whose poor performance outdoor screen we want more. With the new LED backlight 8.9-inch display with a “sunlight readable” option, hopefully this problem has been resolved. The battery life has also been extended to 7 hours on the included battery, which almost all day computing.

OCZ Announces Summit SSD Available

OCZ has a new addition to its SSD lineup with the Summit Series. These drives are available in 60 GB, 120 GB and 250 GB capacity.

The summit offers an impressive line read and write times of 220MB s and 200 Mb s or for the two hard drives with greater capacity and 220MB s read and 125 MB s write, for the 60 GB.

Availability is limited. Not bad, how much power you can from these SSDs in those days. For the people aware that the summit with a mere 2W at full power and 0.5 W at idle, the loans to increased battery life compared to conventional plates spinning.
