Dell Offers Ubuntu on Studio XPS 13 Notebook

PC, notebook, monitor and associated hardware manufacturer Dell has recently started his Studio 13 XPS notebook PC preinstalled with the Linux-based operating system Ubuntu. The 13.3-inch notebook else has the same specifications as the key Windows Vista-powered counterpart, including the same 2.4-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, even if some of the available options differ between them. For example, users can upgrade to a 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo on the Ubuntu XPS-13, while those for the Vista system have the choice of another 2.53GHz and 2.66 GHz CPU.At the same time, the Ubuntu system can only be had with 4 GB of RAM, while the Windows system can be over 6 GB or 8 GB. The Windows-based systems can be equipped with mobile broadboand modules for data and Internet access on the go, while the Ubuntu systems can not. A higher capacity 9-cell battery is also only on Windows-based system, as the productivity software from Microsoft.

The basic operating system is Ubuntu Desktop Edition Version 8:10, when buyers can choose from 7 04 version with 1 year of basic technical support, or 7 04 with one year of tech support standards.

Dell has been the promotion of two lines of gaming notebooks, since it acquired Alienware. But things are changing certain that with the introduction of Alienware M17x. The Alienware M17x is to be sold directly by Dell and the XPS line is not more to gamers.The Alienware M17x is clearly a high-end gaming notebook, but still within reach at $ 1799 The base model is equipped with a 1 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX260M GPU, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz processor P8600, 250GB hard drive, 4 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with hybrid power. A slot-loading DVD burner and a 9-cell battery are also included.

The MSI X340 Notebook is now available in the U.S. This notebook is bigger than a Netbook, thanks to its 13.4-inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display. It is also stronger, with an Intel ULV SU3500 CPU, GMA 4500HD graphics. It has 2 GB of RAM and a 320 GB hard drive, but how MSI’s Netbook is a thin and light machine.In fact, the X340 is still thinner than most Netbook, measuring only 0.78 mm thick. NEC Japan has recently announced the imminent publication of the business-class 10.6-inch Netbook, which VersaPro UltraLite Type VS. Above all, the Netbook weighs 1.6lbs and is only 0.62 cm thick. Clevo slipped under our radar with their new TN70M available now for purchase. In March 2008, we missed the TN120R announcement, which turned out to be a 12.1” convertible tablet that was very customizable.

The Clevo is TN70M latest excursion into the realm of the convertible bonds tablets, this time flirting with competitive Asus’ upcoming T91 and T101 Netbook Tablet. The 7 “TN70M runs Z520 530 540 an Intel Atom processor with speeds of 1.33 GHz to 1.83 GHz. The fully customizable TN70M offers two different screen resolutions, 800×480 or 102×600.
