Dell Offers Ubuntu on Studio XPS 13 Notebook

PC, notebook, monitor and associated hardware manufacturer Dell has recently started his Studio 13 XPS notebook PC preinstalled with the Linux-based operating system Ubuntu. The 13.3-inch notebook else has the same specifications as the key Windows Vista-powered counterpart, including the same 2.4-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, even if some of the available options differ between them. For example, users can upgrade to a 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo on the Ubuntu XPS-13, while those for the Vista system have the choice of another 2.53GHz and 2.66 GHz CPU.At the same time, the Ubuntu system can only be had with 4 GB of RAM, while the Windows system can be over 6 GB or 8 GB. The Windows-based systems can be equipped with mobile broadboand modules for data and Internet access on the go, while the Ubuntu systems can not. A higher capacity 9-cell battery is also only on Windows-based system, as the productivity software from Microsoft.

The basic operating system is Ubuntu Desktop Edition Version 8:10, when buyers can choose from 7 04 version with 1 year of basic technical support, or 7 04 with one year of tech support standards.

Dell has been the promotion of two lines of gaming notebooks, since it acquired Alienware. But things are changing certain that with the introduction of Alienware M17x. The Alienware M17x is to be sold directly by Dell and the XPS line is not more to gamers.The Alienware M17x is clearly a high-end gaming notebook, but still within reach at $ 1799 The base model is equipped with a 1 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX260M GPU, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz processor P8600, 250GB hard drive, 4 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor with hybrid power. A slot-loading DVD burner and a 9-cell battery are also included.

Serious players will flaunt some of the M17x’s high-end options like a Core 2 Extreme quad-core processor, 8 GB RAM, 512GB SSD and dual GeForce GPUs GTX260M.

MSI Wind X340 now available in the US

The MSI X340 Notebook is now available in the U.S. This notebook is bigger than a Netbook, thanks to its 13.4-inch, 1366 x 768 pixel display. It is also stronger, with an Intel ULV SU3500 CPU, GMA 4500HD graphics. It has 2 GB of RAM and a 320 GB hard drive, but how MSI’s Netbook is a thin and light machine.In fact, the X340 is still thinner than most Netbook, measuring only 0.78 mm thick. The machine includes 802.11b g n WiFi, Bluetooth, a 1.3MP camera, 2 USB ports, VGA and HDMI output and an SD Card slot. It is either a 4 cells or 8 cells, even if you think that the $ 799 price, you’re going to have to stick with the 4 cells.

NEC Japan has recently announced the imminent publication of the business-class 10.6-inch Netbook, which VersaPro UltraLite Type VS. Above all, the Netbook weighs 1.6lbs and is only 0.62 cm thick. The low weight is achieved by a magnesium frame is die-cast housing and exclusively with a Solid State Drive, while the thinness of a careful planning and slip on the internal components. The 10-layer base plate for the motherboard does not sit directly under the keyboard, for example, and a heatsink for the CPU has been abolished.The Netbook is equipped with a 1.86Ghz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 64GB SSD with preinstalled Windows Vista Business, even if the buyers have the option of downgrading to XP Professional. The 10.6-inch LCD has a 1280×768 resolution.

Otherwise, there are three USB 2.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port and an 802.11b g Wi-Fi radio. An SD memory card slot lets users files, including images captured on their digital cameras. The standard battery, the PC for 4.1 hours, while a higher capacity battery doubles the time.

If it begins to take Japanese in the shelves late in June.

HP only to its tiny netbook PC line, goosing his 2.33-lb mini-models of business and mini-1101 and its twisted sister, the Mini-110. The big news is the addition of HP Broadcom an optional HD Crystal Enhanced Video Accelerator for the Mini-110.

Why is this a big deal? HP says that its accelerator can approve tinybook playback 1080p video, that’s what. His screen certainly does not have the resolution to be rendered such things, but the idea is, you can plug it into your home theater and watch a couple of crisp video. This we see Gotta.

Prices from $ 279 for the Mini 110 with Linux, $ 329 for 110 with Windows XP or Vista (and check out that crazy purple-pink color, you can choose!), Dispatch of the 10th June, 1101 during the mini rolls on 1 June.

Clevo slipped under our radar with their new TN70M available now for purchase. In March 2008, we missed the TN120R announcement, which turned out to be a 12.1” convertible tablet that was very customizable.

The Clevo is TN70M latest excursion into the realm of the convertible bonds tablets, this time flirting with competitive Asus’ upcoming T91 and T101 Netbook Tablet. The 7 “TN70M runs Z520 530 540 an Intel Atom processor with speeds of 1.33 GHz to 1.83 GHz. The fully customizable TN70M offers two different screen resolutions, 800×480 or 102×600.
