New OCZ RAM And SSD For Apple Notebooks

When it comes to laptops, there are only two things you really do to upgrade your hardware. That would be to add RAM and replace your hard disk. With the last round of MacBook Pros, there were some questions to find compatible RAM, not directly from Apple (which is always on the expensive side). Fortunately, OCZ their backs on both RAM and a new hard drive for your Mac.
This week, OCZ announced two new lines of RAM, SSD and a new one specifically for Mac users. First, the “Suitable for Mac RAM is DDR2 and DDR3 flavors. The DDR2 is 667MHZ PC2-5400 with a CL of 5-5-5-15. These can be found in single 2GB sticks, either alone or in pairs. As for the DDR3 sticks, which are 8500 MHz PC3-1066 with a CL of 7-7-7-20. You can also single 2GB sticks, or in pairs.
OCZ also announced its new Vertex Seris Mac Edition SATA II 2.5-inch SSD. The drives have a sequential read write speeds of 240MB s and 170 Mb s or 64 MB of onboard cache. Not only will this increase the speed of your activities, but increase your battery. The new vertex will SDD’s in 30, 60, 120 and 250 GB capacity. No word on pricing or availability of the newly announced products.
