PeeWee Portable Netbook For Kids

With a name like PeeWee, you can not expect that these rebadged Intel Classmate PC very child friendly. And you are wrong. Despite the low price this tough nut is ideal for the kids.First indications. It is a Netbook that is a 1.6 GHz Atom processor, which is coupled with a memory card reader, 60GB HD (this is very strange, PATA not SATA – Beware when buying upgrades) and 1GB of RAM.

The differences are a water-in keyboard and usually toughened outer and a rotating, flip-screen instructions to complete this in a tablet. And it is also the reason this works for children – they can scribble and draw with them as well as paper and, instead of their rubbish on the refrigerator, you can simply their life-long education in computer usage through the use of a hard drive crash “or” File corrupted “.

The PeeWee Kid also loaded with software. Unlike the usual sense of child-friendly, which really means low quality, feature-stripped junk an adult would not affect the PeeWee indeed appropriate software from Microsoft Works (though OpenOffice would be better), ArtRage 2, FBReader for e-books, and amazing Evernote for note-taking.

The only thing missing is Etch-a-Sketch.

Toshiba projects increased netbook sales in 2009

Toshiba projects increased netbook sales in 2009

A Toshiba executive said the company expects that “up to three percentage points growth in Netbook in Europe, the Middle East and Africa this year. The Wall Street Journal reports that Toshiba sees tremendous growth potential for mini-laptops in the developed markets, but expects sales to drop off in emerging markets like Russia. An interesting point is that Toshiba, which recently Toshiba NB200 in Europe, do not see Netbook cannibalizing sales of more expensive laptops and desktop computers. According to Toshiba nearly 99% of the Netbook buyers are picking this computer as a second or third computer. This figure seems remarkably high to me, but not entirely beyond question. I am less sure that I believe that the statistics in the other article that only 10% of customers say, price is a factor in the Netbook purchases.

Maybe it’s just me, but I thought that was one of the characteristic features of a Netbook. They could be mini-laptop a few years. They were just subnotebooks and they cost $ 1500 or more.

Ennova USB Drive Comes Complete With OLED Screen/Fingerprint Scanner

It’s still a little, like from a current release, but it looks like the people on Direct Ennova simply not help themselves from the announcement that they’ve received a patent for a newfangled biometric USB flash drive packs in an integrated OLED screen.

Even better that OLED screen seems really doubled, as the fingerprint scanner that does not add much extra in terms of security, but should be good for at least a few moments Gee whiz. The actual patent, but not for something that the convergence, but also for the sliding mechanism of the screen when closed and opens up the USB connector when it is open.

No word on pricing or capacity only, but it looks like the first drive should be under the brand ION Technologies sometime in the first quarter 2010.

Decorated Acer Aspire One

Decorated Acer Aspire One

We’ve seen blinged Netbook before from Japan. But generally I would not touch it with a 17.5 meter pole.

But Japan’s gadget-renowned artist (he paints on gadgets) UFO Hayashi decorated Acer’s Aspire One is actually kind of attractive.

It’s also kind of expensive. It is in this little artwork on eBay with a starting price of $ 3000. For some reason there are no bids yet.

Ultraslim Laptop Backpack

Ultraslim Laptop Backpack

Backpacks are great – they keep the big, old laptop from you and distributed, that heavy weight on both shoulders. I know there are some of you to be cool to both shoulder straps of the backpack, but you do not realize the damage you do to your spine? We are talking about scoliosis, here! Pinched nerve, pulled muscles and torn rotator cuffs not very cool for us, so both straps. We can hear the complaints from here. Backpacks are big and bulky things. They are so far from the back, knocking you if you people on tight curves. Not this one, kiddies. This backpack is slim and trim, but can a 17″ laptop comfortably inside. Slide the soft and stretchy neoprene strap on the shoulders, and it feels like gravity, that it hardly exists.

LEGO flash drive

LEGO flash drive

You’ve probably seen EagleTec’s Nano flash drive, a gadget that defined “nano” in relation to the size gadget. The iPod nano is not nanoness in comparison to the Nano’s EagleTec. What could be more awesome than a small flash drive? A small Lego flash drive, that’s what. Etsy seller Stefan and geekier offers a stylish alternative to the EagleTec Nano, buffalo 2 GB of memory in a Nano as 1 2 LEGO brick.

The disadvantage is that you have to pay more for this flash drive, and you get much less memory.

But hey, it’s LEGO! Plus it is in ten colors! However, if you have a larger capacity flash drive, you can easily block LEGO 8 GB stick, which is basically a 2 2 Lego block.

LEGO flash drive

The 8 GB flash drive comes with two games. We do not know if these are Flash-based games or Scorched Earth, and risk.

Both the 2 GB and 8 GB flash drives LEGO with protective caps and keychain drives. And if you opt for a transparent LEGO Stein, Stefan will throw in a free LED.

There are two SO-DIMM sockets that can support 4GB of RAM. The notebook uses a 13.3-inch, 16:9, LED-backlit display with 1366×768 resolution and an anti-glare coating. ASUS opted to use a magnesium alloy for the PC’s chassis and gives the hard drive a free-fall sensor to reduce the amount of data loss in a drop.ASUS is offering the P30A with a choice of four 2.5-inch hard drives, including 5400RPM and 7,200RPM variants on a 320GB unit, as well as similar speeds for a 250GB drive. There is a choice of Windows Vista operating systems, including Ultimate, Business and Home Premium. The P30A weighs 3.3lbs with the 4-cell battery, though no endurance times were published. Sharp Mebius netbook comes with two screens

Sharp Mebius netbook comes with two screens

Just before Apple announced the latest line of MacBooks, there was a lot of speculation about what a glass trackpad can bring to the machines. There were pictures of mock MacBooks with a second screen and not as a trackpad, with the second screen of the host bank charges. These rumors have proven to be obviously wrong, but the idea is still alive, just not on a MacBook.

Sharp’s new Netbook, Mebius PC-NJ70A, has just the idea behind it. Rather than a trackpad, it is involved, 854 x 480 LCD display on the palm rest. The screen can be any number of widgets, including an equalizer, you can use your fingers, a calculator and a notepad. There are probably other widgets for the smaller screen as well. The touchscreen has a built-in ambient light detector and adjusts the brightness according to how much brighter the environment.

The small touch-screen, while the standard Netbook otherwise quite expensive with an estimated $ 817 U.S. Dollar, is a big step forward. Netbook screens, even at 10 inches are usually much too small for some people, and with an additional 4 inch screen, very useful. Most of the widgets on the touch screen is very likely small applications, the only pain to have to in Windows anyway. Instead of searching for the calculator app, there is the right of the screen, the same with Notepad. So if it is perhaps not the standard be any time soon, Sharp Dual shielded Netbook is a great insight into those notebooks in the rule could soon move.
