Toshiba Portégé R600

Toshiba unveils the Port R600 last autumn as Centrino 2 Upgrade to the R500. The R500 barely weigh less than a Asus Eee PC 701 – the R600 we have here is even easier.
What it actually is an aluminum alloy in the chassis slot is a 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400 processor, sits on a 800 MHz frontside bus, by up to 3 GB DDR 2 memory. Storage comes courtesy of the Netbook-style, but with an SSD HDD to 128GB capacity. The screen is a 12.1in Netbook-beat, 1280 x 800, LED-backlit panel of Intel’s latest integrated graphics core, the GMA 4500MHD, part of the GS45 chipset.
True to its Go-Anywhere ambitions, the R600 includes 802.11n Wi-Fi and network unlocked 7.2Mb s HSDPA 3G module. It also has Bluetooth.
A trip around the plastic housing, we have, from back to front, power, VGA, USB Combo 2.0 eSATA, vanilla 3.5 mm audio and USB ports and a volume wheel on the left. The right side is home to a Gigabit Ethernet jack, a third USB port, a switch for the wireless sub-system, an ExpressCard-54-bay, and a SDHC card slot.
